OUR MISSION

Our mission is to help Warriors, Educators, First Responders, Kids and more develop a personal, direct, and life-long relationship with nature and the outdoors. We believe that the wellness of current and future generations, the health of our planet and communities, and the economy of the future depend on humans having a strong connection with nature. Our very name is a powerful acronym for who and what we value:

WARRIORS

Those who serve in our armed forces risk their lives to protect our freedom and safety. They set a powerful example of courage, selflessness, and service to others.

EDUCATORS

From public and private school teachers to outdoor education instructors, we believe that educators are essential to our mission and have the power to positively impact the world.

RESPONDERS

First Responders embody the spirit of service and community that we aim to cultivate in our participants. They are motivated by a desire to help others and make a positive impact in the world.

KIDS

By participating in WERKIN’s nature-based activities, kids can gain confidence, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and leadership abilities, empowering them with the skills and knowledge they need to enjoy and care for the world around them.

IN

Being “in” nature means taking a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and slowing down to really appreciate the cool breeze on our skin, the warmth of the sun on our faces, and the texture of the earth under our feet.
